Q: How is 'Percent Match' calculated?
A: The Percent Match calculation demonstrates the real
power of the eBestMatch Engine. The Percent Match is our patented
calculation that helps IT decision makers avoid some of
the problems with simply using a weighted average (the
“Ability to Meet Criteria” like Enterprise Technologies for Enterprise Technologies)
calculation is a weighted average.
This calculation becomes useful when the decision maker wishes
to consider the consistency of scores across all of the
criteria in addition to the vendors’ Ability to Meet Criteria
calculation. The eBestMatch Engine runs through patented
algorithms to generate a Weighted Average Composite
Index (WACI), which is a number between 0 and 1. A WACI
of 1 indicates that a vendor’s scores were very
consistent throughout the RFI. Those vendors with
a WACI below 1 have inconsistencies in their scores
across the RFI. The degree to which the scores are
inconsistent determines the WACI. The Percent Match
is a simple calculation of: The Ability to Meet
Criteria (x) WACI.
Enterprise Technologies, TEC's Knowledge Bases and advanced decision
tools help you measure business value and risk, reduce cost and
time in making informed decisions, automate the RFI/RFP process,
and build a strong case. Free research and newsletter.
TEC was coined "the Rolls-Royce of decision support tools" by ZDNet
Today's more informed buyer
demands proof of performance. The major benefit of being a TEC Certified Vendor, aside from getting
their products on the radar screen of "ready to buy" IT decision makers, worldwide, is that they are
able to use our resources to clearly illustrate product superiority. And, because the information they
provide comes from a totally impartial source, they and the client receive that powerful endorsement
they are both looking for when the products involved do indeed satisfy the buyer's needs in areas such
as Enterprise Technologies.
